The trail starts with a nice easy to follow snowshoe path. Things look promising!
However, the trail ends shortly after and I am forced to break trail. Tedious work in the heavy, wet spring snow.
As I gain the ridge the snow really thins out. I decide to abandon my snowshoes. You can seem them sticking up in the bottom of this photo. I stick them up so I can easily find them on the return trip.
As I gain the next little ridge I realize this was a poor choice. Too much snow to easily walk through. I have to turn around and go back to collect my snowshoes.

Traditional summit selfie.
In the distance is the summit of mt sparrowhawk. Return the same way you came up.
