The High Rockies trail is a new multi-use trail that is planned to open for Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017.
Although it is still under construction, you can explore portions of the trail.
When complete, the trail will be 80km long. I decided a bike would be the fastest way to explore.
The bike was clearly a good choice, these banked corners make for a fun ride.
The trail passes through some pretty cool scenery. See the clouds building the distance? I’m heading that direction. File that under foreshadowing.
Noted.
Right as I hit the end of the trail it started snowing. Fortunately, it let up for a portion of the return journey, but I still had frozen hands.
Traditional Snow selfie!
